Katrina Kaiff has never been to a college in her real life. She said on a question about playing as a college girl in the film ‘New York”, Hindi. She added that she is working since 17 of her age to meet the rents of her residence and family financial responsibilities. Today she has visted Ajmeer Shariff in Burkha to pray for the success of her film ‘New York” release. New York releases on 26th June. This time she went to Durgha with complete Muslim dress code as last time she was in controversy when she paid a visit this Durgha with short dress.

Aishwarya’s Birthday Donation for Hospital

The gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan not only celebrated her birthday last week, but after returning from Agra, made a donation to a hospital. Ash donated a C-Arm Image Intensifier to K K Bhabha Hospital, in Bandra, Mumbai, on her birthday.
Ash has been actively involved with the treatment of poor at Bhabha Hospital for years now. Reports are that when she learnt that the hospital authorities needed a C-Arm Image Intensifier because the previous one was too old, Ash got them a new one.
Ash took personal interest in the kind of intensifier that the doctors required and saw to it that the machine had apt technical features that was required by the doctors.
Hari Singh, Ash’s business manager confirmed the news saying, “It is true that Ash donated a C-Arm Image Intensifier machine to Bhabha hospital on her birthday.”
He added that Ash has been actively involved with Bhabha Hospital making donations for the treatment of the poor.
Singh said, “For patients who cannot afford expensive treatments, Bhabha Hospital is a boon. It is good that we have such a hospital in city to give prompt treatment without bothering about the money.”source: Himalya

Two aishwarya films are coming in a fortnight

It would be quite a handful for Aishwarya Rai fans in early 2008 as two of her films would be hitting the marquee in quick succession.

While 25th January 2008 has been locked for the release of Ashutosh Gowarikar’s JODHA AKBAR which features Ash opposite her DHOOM:2 star Hrithik Roshan, she gets to appear in a Bachchan family photo frame with the release of SARKAR RAAJ. This Ram Gopal Varma film is expected to arrive on 8th February; just a fortnight after JODHA AKBAR. Though she is not paired opposite Abhishek Bachchan in the film, Aishwarya Rai is said to be playing a powerful character in SARKAR RAAJ.

Currently these are the only two films for which Aishwarya has worked in the recent past though talks are on between her and Rohan Sippy for the Sriram Raghavan film that stars John Abraham in the lead.

Aishwarya’s DHOOM:2 act in PINK PANTHER?

Timeless beauty Aishwarya Rai (Bachchan) is Bollywood’s most recognized female face in the West. No wonder she is being offered one Hollywood project after the other. As is well known, she is presently working for the next in the PINK PANTHER series, and with none other than Steve Martin.

While on the movie, it appears that Hollywood has taken notice of her superb negative act in Yash Raj’s DHOOM:2, opposite the ‘Indian Greek God’ Hrithik Roshan! As per sources, this Hollywood venture revolves around ‘Jacqes Clouseau’ (Steve Martin) and Aishwarya, who plays ‘Sophie’, a criminal expert, who is holding on to some important information about the villain. Martin teams up with Ash and a group of other International detectives, to launch a worldwide manhunt for a globe-trotting crook, who specializes in stealing artifacts.

Here’s hoping that just like DHOOM:2 this film too succeeds and Aishwarya makes India and Bollywood proud.

Upcoming bollywood flick is a sixteenth century love story about a marriage of alliance that gave birth to true love between a great Mughal emperor, Akbar (Hrithik Roshan), and a Rajput princess, Jodha (Aishwarya Rai). Film is expected to release on 25th january 2008

Aishwarya Rai will promote Longines in non-metro cities

Aishwarya Rai will soon travel to non-metro big cities to promote Swiss brand, there is plan of her traveling to places like Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

Longines International, vice president sales, Charles Villoz told IANS “India’s luxury watch market has a lot of potential. I believe in the coming years compared to the US more people in this country would sport luxury watches.”

“The country has a huge middle class and a good watch is no less than a major investment”

he adds “Also, shopping malls are increasingly mushrooming in second rung cities where people go not only to shop but also to hang out. And it would prove beneficial to increase our visibility.”

Currently Swiss watch group has 68 sales location. From nearly 20 forthcoming sales locations, five are supposed to be multi brand retail shops and the rest shop in shop outlets.

In future there will one store at places like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Gurgaon.“Our focus will be towards the south. The number of young, IT employees marking their presence there makes it a significant market for us.”

Swiss company may invest nearly Rs.1 million for large stores covering over nearly 100 sq meters, and about Rs.200, 000 for small shops of 70 sq meters in shopping malls.

Currently Swiss company is getting a growth rate of 20 % per year. According to Villoz in next three years growth may cross the 25 %. “The size of the country, economic boom, the steadily changing retail landscape and the availability of more money with the youth are some of the contributing factors for overseas brand investing in India.”

“Also, increasing fashion consciousness among youngsters who want to look trendy. For them, an elegant watch would add to the personality and attitude.”

After the success of provoked where aishwarya played a housewife who is brutalised by her own husband; aish seems to winning more sentimental roles in hollywood.

Yes, if grapevine is to be believed then aishwarya is poised to bag another project in hollywood. and this time she will feature in the film with hollywood actress meryl streep who has recently won an oscar award.

Film is based on a french fillm, Chaos, and is about the troubles in the life of a modern middle class family when a young prostitute enters in what seems to be a rather unintentional circumstances.

It is being reported that Ash will be playing the role of a prostitute who is mentally and physically tortured. Film will be focused on the difficulties of her survival, resurrection and dignity.

Although film is yet to be finalized, meryl streep and aishwarya are most likely to feature in this project.
